Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I buy a single full size lot, what kind and how many burials can go there?

A: A full size lot can fit one full size burial and six cremation burials after the full size has taken place. If the cremations are to take place before the full size burial, the full size burial may no longer take place.

Q: How many cremation burials can fit in a cremation lot?

A: A single cremation lot can fit six cremation burials. Full size burials may not take place in a cremation lot.

Q: When I purchase a lot, do I own the lot?

A: When purchasing a lot, you are purchasing an easement, or the permission for burials in said lot and must follow all rules and guidelines of the cemetery.

Q: Where are there lots available at Glenwood Cemetery?

A: The only place to currently purchase lots in the cemetery is Glenwood Memorial Park which is the section with the circular road at the bottom of the hill of the main entrance.

Q: Can I choose where my lot will be?

A: Yes. With the exception of a few circumstances due to landscaping and erosion, any unoccupied lot in Glenwood Memorial Park is available for purchase.

Q: What can I put on my lot after purchase?

A: Before or after burials/services have taken place, you may have monuments placed on your lot as well as flat markers and corner posts. If you purchased a single grave lot, you are limited to only placing a slant monument to adhere to the width of a single grave lot. You are allowed up to five decorations at the top of the lot by the monument. Trees and shrubs may be planted only after consulting with the Sexton. Rose and Lilacs are not permitted.

Q: When can burial services take place?

A: Burial services can take place year round on weekdays no later than 1:00pm and Saturdays no later than 12:00pm.

Q: How soon does the cemetery staff need to be notified of a burial service?

A: Burial requests must be made a minimum of 48 business hours in advance.

Q: Is Saint Rose Cemetery part of Glenwood Cemetery?

A: No. Although the Glenwood Cemetery staff maintains the grounds and executes burial services via contract, Saint Rose is a separate entity. 

​

Q: Can I walk my dog in the cemetery?

A: Dogs are permitted on the cemetery grounds but must be on a leash and must be picked up after.

​

Q: Does the cemetery have a closing time?

A: The cemetery is open to the public during daylight hours. Business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:00pm.

​

Q: Where can I park in the cemetery?

A: Parking is permitted on any of the drivable roadways off to the side so that other vehicles can pass. Please be patient if a car is not passable and do not drive on the grass.
